HE BEGINS

This month R.A. Pendergrass begins his work as the Family and Youth Minister. We love and appreciate the Pendergrass family and let’s pray for R.A. and work with him and surely great things are going to take place down at church. Brother Pendergrass preached at Mt. View last Sunday and as he has time and opportunity he will preach here. There are many talented people at Central and if we will use our gifts and abilities then we can greatly strengthen the church. God blesses His people who work and serve in a faithful way. Remember your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

MOTHERS’ DAY

Next Sunday is “Mothers’ Day.” One preacher recently said, “One of the best attended services where I preach is “Mothers’ Day.” Perhaps this is true in most churches. Why? Because children and others want to show respect for mothers. Some children travel many miles across the country to be with their mother on this day and that is good. The Lord Jesus Christ honored His mother. He remembered her in life and for sure He remembered her in death. The Bible says “give honor to whom honor is due” and in some way we will honor mothers next week. Be here.

MANY THINGS

There are many things that will be taking place in the next few weeks. The following are some: One, May 30th will be the All-Church-Report-Time. Two, also May 30th will be the Fifth-Sunday-Special-Giving-Time. Three, VBS will be June 13th-16th. As you know, this is one of the highlights of the year. Four, there is something else I need to mention that will take place in the month of May. Russel Bell will be here to give his annual India report. He will be here for the evening service May 30th. Five, June and July will be the big Christian camp for the young people in Paragould. Pre-teen week will be June 27th-July 2nd and teen week will be July 11th-July 16th. Get ready young people because this will be a life-changing experience.

THANKS DAY

I want to thank everybody in this church for all the good you do in attending, living and giving. Good members make a good church. I appreciate the men who have recently gone out and preached at other places. Bob Spencer, Rick Davidson and R.A. Pendergrass have gone out to preach. The men who lead singing and lead in worship are to be commended. A special thanks to the men who give the devotionals on Wednesday nights. May we remember the elders and deacons who faithfully serve. Thank you Frank Pitcock for going the “second mile” and doing the extra work in being the church treasurer. Members, have you ever thought of how much time this takes? Another effort that we may overlook is the dear people who take care of the “church nursery.” This is a wonderful and needed work. We never want to forget our good bus drivers, church secretaries, Bible teachers, those who teach the children’s Bible hour, and the many people who work in the animal and crochet ministries, all who help prepare and serve the Wednesday night meals. Today, thank somebody for doing something good.

Be sure and be in the assembly of worship every week. Come with a Bible in your hand and a spring in your step and a smile on your face. I’ll look for you in your place.
